There has been a lot of attention and posting around the anticipated unveiling of the XBOX360 that occured yesterday. I held off on the speculation, wanting to wait for the official details. Video gamers won't be disappointed. Microsoft had stated early on that they would come out first with their next generation gaming system, so not to be caught behind like when they released after the PS2. You can see below some of the outstanding specs for this next generation gaming console. There is in my opinion one thing that needs to be straightened out.
From an excellent article at Kotaku that gives details on all the xbox360 features we read:
Microsoft is still trying to make the console backwards compatible
I think that if Microsoft really wants to push adoption of the xbox360 they'll need to make it backwards compatible otherwise it'll be a tough-sell for gamers who have invested in current titles.
Ok so now for a nice side-by-side comparison click on the image of this table - let the countdown to Christmas begin.

C'mon! Once you get a new gaming platform when have you EVER gone back and played the old game? I could care less if X360 can't play Xbox games - I'll have a ton of new games to blow my mind.

I have to say that the new Xbox should really be an exciting item. The only problem i forsee is a hefty price tag. I imagien that the new PS3 will probably be equally expensive when it comes out next year. The real question to ask is: will microsoft regret getting the xbox 360 before the ps3, or will it help them in the long run?
