Well the OQO handtop that we've writen about before has finally begun to take orders via its web site.
You can get details here..
I never did get a response from the company about testing a unit; stay tuned however I may be testing a FlipStart in the near future.
UPDATE: PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE PRODUCT IS ONLY SHIPPING IN THE US FROM WHAT I SAW ON THEIR ONLINE SHOPPING AREA.

Hype! Hype! Hype!
This is one overpriced toy. Not for serious computing or mobile work. And they seem to be taking orders but not shipping yet!

The $$ for this product will doom it right out of the gate. I would bet that they'll drop the price after 3-months of very little uptake.

My beef is that this thing was suppose to be under $1000 when it was first announced!
Now it's "under $2000" but that isn't really true either.
A quote from a review says
"Still, the OQO has some major downsides. Its hefty price doesn't include a DVD or CD drive, so you can't install most software programs unless you spend money to buy such a drive. There's also no PC card slot, common on laptops, so you can't plug in things like cellphone modems or memory-card readers."
So you are really looking at over $2000 bucks for a so-so product. Wait for version two or wait for something else!

Would this type of palmtop be a better option than the tablet PC? I really like that it is so portable but I wonder if being so small limits how functional it is, despite have a full PC crammed into it.
